A Haul For The Home

Magical Thinking Jingle Pillow, Magical Thinking Duvet & Shams, Ceramic Clock Box, Elephant Dish

Elephant Dish - World Market
Ceramic Clock Box

Magical Thinking Shams/ Duvet

I recently made a small purchase of decorative housewares items. I noticed that Urban Outfitters was having a mother of all sales that was too good to pass up so I logged on to take a look . The sale was an additional 50 % off the already reduced merchandise ! I couldn't believe it ! I picked up new bedding, two shams and one duvet cover along with a throw pillow. All three items are from a brand called " Magical Thinking" they are featured frequently on the Urban Outfitters website. The duvet cover style is "Azo Medallian" and it retails at $89 I ended up getting it for only $15. The shams are part of the "Azo Medallian" set as well and those retailed for $44 and I got them for $7, and lastly, the "Jingle" throw pillow which came in both the darker purple shade that I purchased and a lighter purple shade retailed for $34  and I got it for $5. Once the pillow arrived I was really regretting not picking up the lighter purple shade also because it was so well made and so cute with the bed set. In addition to UO I also purchased two other housewares items. One is the most adorable ceramic elephant dish that is originally from "World Market" which has an online site as well as free standing stores, but I found this at my local Goodwill.  It was so cute that I couldn't leave it behind. It only cost me $1.99. The last thing I picked up was this ceramic clock box for my coffee table. I purchased it in a tiny store that I don't recall the name of (I'm sorry!) But it was only $7 and it looks amazing ! ( The duvet cover is still available on Urban Outfitters in the sale but its not 50% off anymore :/ )

E.L.F. Disney Villains Nail Polish Review

Left-Right : Mint Cream, Thunderstorm, Mod Mauve, Nude, Cranberry, Smoky Brown, Bubblegum Pink, Gina Girl, Sea Escape, Coral Dream, Smokin Hot, Pot of Gold

I got my hands on one part of E.L.F. cosmetics recent "Disney Villains" collection. I picked it up at CVS and it retailed for $9.00 but I had a 30% off coupon so I believe it was $7.50 with tax. Included in the box you receive, 12 mini nailpolishes with a very vast shade range. Everything from light to dark, with some pastels and some metallics  as well as a few with chunky glitter.  For the price I think its a great value , and the Disney Villain theme is always a plus. The 4 villains featured are ,Cruella, Ursula, Maleficent, and the Evil Queen. Each of the shades are from each villain, the way the packaging is set up is each side features 4 shades. I find that each of the colors look best with at least 2 coats, and I didn't notice any chipping for about 1 week with the use of a top coat. Without a top coat, I noticed chipping within 3 days so, a top coat is beneficial. The finish of these are actually pretty nice for being so inexpensive. But, again a top coat really gives them the extra boost. I would recommend these because they are perfect to try out different colors and just to have throughout the seasons.

Wet and Wild Drugstore Haul & Review

Left- right: Fergie Daily,Cherry on Top,Pink Perfection

Fergie Daily

Pink perfection, Cherry on top

Recently I made a trip to my local CVS and I always stop by the makeup section just see if there are any new items that have just launched.  I came across the Wet and Wild display because it was advertising Fergie's new line for the brand. I am not really a Fergie fan but, celebrity product endorsements always peak my interest.  She came out with many different products including liners, glosses, and lipsticks. None of the liners or glosses caught my eye but the lipsticks definitely did. I was attracted to a few of them but one in particular "Fergie Daily" really stuck out , it is such a gorgeous nude shade for everyday and I love it.  On top of being a great color the formulation is amazing, so smooth and creamy and I honestly didn't notice any bleeding throughout the day. It isn't one of those dead look type of nudes but one with beige/pink undertones which I think work great on everyone. The price was $3.99 which I think is a great value for a drugstore lipstick.

Right below the Fergie products, Wet and Wild had a whole row of "Mega Last Liquid Lip Colors". I love long lasting lip glosses because I hate touching up throughout the day and for $2.99 I thought these were worth a try . My consensus on these are of mixed feelings, first off I love the shade "Cherry on Top" , it is a gorgeous deep cherry red color that I think goes great with my fair complexion, the other shade "Pink Perfection" was a bit disappointing because I saw it as a more pinky nude in the tube with hints of sparkle but once applied on the lips, the sparkles were more like chunks instead of hints and the color was a lot brighter than I expected. The formulation of these is really interesting, it definitely does what it says in terms of "lasting mega long" because these wont budge without makeup remover. But, once they have fully dried it almost feels like you have applied tar to your lips and the wet glossy look vanishes. This is a lot more noticeable with the "Pink Perfection" shade, you start to notice chunky glitter running all around your mouth. The product also begins to bunch in certain places on your lips with prolonged wear. So, if I had to choose one of these to repurchase it would have to be "Cherry on Top" because I think over a glossier lipstick like a MAC luster or cremesheen formulation this could work, but I'd forego "Pink Perfection" for sure.

Buckle Boots : Fall in love with these this season

So, I have been obsessing over boots this fall( just like I do every fall and winter) and I have gone out on my yearly hunt for a few new pairs. While I was out today I walked into my local Forever21 and to my pleasant surprise I discovered these babies, which in case any of you have noticed are exact copies of the Jeffrey Campbell "Tripoli" boots that are retailing for $238. At first glance I was like hmm  am I feeling these ? I am not a huge fan of pointed toe shoes, but, once the shoe and my foot met it was over from there. The point isn't too dramatic so if your like me I think you'd love these. The brassy colored buckles perfectly compliment the black shoe and are dramatic enough to make a statement without being gaudy. I am in love ! I look forward to styling these with skinny jeans, high waisted shorts in particular but really anything goes because these are so versatile.( I would just like to mention they are available in cognac as well). These retail for $42.80 and they are worth every penny!
